Institutional Tour

Free tours of the Brazilian National Congress are offered on Mondays, Thursdays and, Fridays, as well as weekends and Brazilian public holidays. Tours are offered in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS). Weekday tours in languages other than Portuguese must be booked at least until 5 p.m. of the previous day. Weekend tours in English take place on 10:15 am and 4:15 p.m. Weekend tours in Spanish, French and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) are available, however they must be booked in advance via email to

Currently tours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are suspended.

On weekdays, the administrative rules do not allow visitors to wear: shorts, sleeveless T-shirts, slippers, miniskirts. These restrictions do not apply to children under 12. As Congress encourages sustainable practices, it is recommended to bring a reusable bottle or glass to drink water. Don’t forget your photo ID.

 The institutional tour covers the Chambers of the two Houses, the Green and Blue Halls, as well as the Time Tunnel of the Senate and the Noble Hall of the Chamber of Deputies.

On weekends and holidays, admittance to the tours is on a first-come, first-served basis with no booking required (exception to Tuesdays, Wednesdays - visit closed and Thrusdays - booking is necessary). From December 23rd to February 1st and from July 18th to July 31st booking for tours is not necessary, as Congress is not in session. Tours on these dates occur on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tours may be cancelled due to force majeure and/or security reasons. We will try to notify the contact person as far in advance as possible. However, due to last-minute occurrences, cancellation may occur without prior notice.
